This Practice Group begins with a "remembering" for inspiration, centering and connecting with ourselves. This is followed by a "check-in" when we share how we are, what we bring with us or what we hope to receive during the session. Activities include: short education exercises, empathy, role-plays, games and discussions. Participants can facilitate the group with prior arrangement with Rodger Sorrow

No one turned away due to lack of funds -- work exchange and barter welcome.  | TIME: 7:15 pm - 9:30 pm one Friday each month, including April 11, May 16, and June 27, 2008 (contact Jeff for future dates) | DESCRIPTION: Most sessions will use the following format: a brief presentation of a particular NVC skill, followed by practice exercises and role playing real situations. Empathy and self-empathy are common themes, as well as compassionate honesty, gratitude, celebrating and mourning. The basics of NVC will be offered in a fun, safe, experiential way.  This is open to the public and intended for the staff, teachers and parents at Cesar Chavez Charter School.  Much of our focus will be on how to use NVC with children; where everyone's needs are equal and power is shared.

We will cover the basics of NVC and include the use of drugs and alcohol as a strategy to meet some needs but at the cost of many others.

Vi vil arbejde med konkrete veje til at støtte børn og voksne i at udvikle de færdigheder, der er brug for, hvis vi ønsker at mobning i børnehaver og skoler forandres til fred, samarbejde, rum til alle og dermed giver både tryghed og frihed for hver enkelt.

This course contents 21 days in 7 blocs. Three auf the blocs serve basic NVC learning and training with an additional emphasis on dealing with aggressions, limits and self-empathy. The next 4 blocs deal with NVC in leading functions, counselling, social change, trainer skills. The main focus of the training lies on NVC in organizations and enterprises. We invite people fwith leading functions in organisations, free counsellors, mediators, supervisors, organization developers.

Wednesday mornings, 9:30-11:30 AM,  from September 10-December 17, come practice applying Nonviolent Communication into your daily interactions. Using exercises, role-play, discussion and down to earth practical ideas, explore the ways NVC can be of use to you in living with more choice and compassion. 

Sessions will include:

• In-depth exploration of the four components of NVC
• Hands-on empathy and honesty practice
• Learning effective self-empathy techniques
• Transforming blame and criticism into understanding and connection
• Working with real situations brought by participants
• Building a supportive community
