Course Description:
This is a new regular NVC training drop-in evening that I am starting in
London.
It will be held once every 4 weeks.  The content will include a combination of
introducing further elements of the NVC process, working with live issues that
participants bring, and practice of NVC.
  The venue is at
Beauchamp Lodge at Little Venice, which we have used for trainings many times
over the past year.  It is a lovely building, overlooking the
canal.
  I
am initially running these evenings on Fridays.  The first evening will
be on Friday 31st October, and the second on Friday 28th November.  I
am imagining that Fridays are not ideal, but there was very limited
availability of rooms at the venue.  We can see how it goes - if there
is a strong preference for another evening, I will see if we can swap
it or find another venue.  Contact me to let me know if you intend to
come.  Contact me also if you are interested in coming, but Fridays
don't suit you.

Please note that you need to have completed a 2 day foundation training
or equivalent before attending, as this is an intermediate training.

Course Description:

Would you like to make peace with your own desires? Would you like to better understand your heart's longings and bring them more fully into manifestation? Nonviolent Communication (NVC) offers some simple and easy-to-learn ways of befriending ourselves. From this place, what we say to others will come across different, making connection and collaboration more likely. We'll explore both the inner and the outer connections that this work makes possible.

All our longings come from a divine source of life within us, that inspires everything we do. Learning to identify and embrace these longings is a step to feeling more at peace with our deeper selves, and with our purpose in the world. Understanding ourselves in this new way, we can develop new compassion and understanding for others. We can find the words to reach them, and to create friendships and partnerships based on mutuality, respect and care.

This workshop will be based at the Findhorn Foundation, a world renowned intentional spiritual community founded in 1962 and now at the forefront of developements in personal growth, spiritual practice, ecology and sustainability. See www.findhorn.org for more info.

Course Description:

Embracing Longing - The Spirituality of Nonviolent Communication

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) offers some simple and profound tools for deeper self awareness and self compassion. Behind every action we take, and everything we say, are universal longings we are seeking to fulfill. Knowing these longings, embracing their presence at the root of all we do, can radically change how we experience ourselves and others. Out of this clarity, decisive action can emerge, as well as new ways of expressing ourselves to others that are more likely to create outcomes that everyone will enjoy.

We will explore simple practices for better self connection, as well as developing skills in listening to one another fully. We will stretch our ability to stay congruent with our values while with others, and find skillful ways of expressing our honesty.

There will be a mix of learning styles on this workshop: solo written work, work in pairs and threes, as well as unstructured group process. With all of these contexts we will give ourselves the opportunity to experience a world beyond "right" and "wrong" where we are more connected to one another, and to our essense.

Leo Sofer has been learning and teaching NVC since 1999.

Course Description:
Facilitator Immersion Training in NVC based Restorative Circles

The Circle Facilitator brings a unique focus to the gathering and
embodies the promise the Circle holds out - a world in which the needs
of all are held as precious.

The Facilitator contributes a conscious guiding of the process and
corresponding use of language based on commonly held observations and
values - both to model and invite new ways of sharing power.

Their silence, skilled translation of pain expressed through judgment,
witnessing of the balance of power and use of empathic and descriptive
language are transformative elements in the journey a Circle and its
participants take.

This Facilitator Immersion training will involve in depth exploration of
what it means to serve a Restorative process as it unfolds. The
investigation will focus on accompanying the Circle's participants as
they seek security, understanding, dignity, responsibility, learning and
action.

The distinct moments participants may pass through will be studied in
detail from diverse angles - hands-on practice, observation of the
practice of experienced others and mapping of these two. Each day will
offer the chance to live the experience of live circles.

These two days of experiential learning are recommended to all those
wanting to deepen their understanding of the process and support others
in implementing it - whether you are currently serving or planning on
serving as a Facilitator, would like to develop a Restorative Justice
system in your institution or community, or seek insight into
instigating systemic change.
